TThis course consists of 3 sessions, each lasting from 18:00 to 21:00 on Fridays: November 22nd, 29th, and December 6th. Classes are kept small, with just 4 students to ensure individual attention and a supportive learning environment.
Lesson 1 covers the basics: threading the sewing machine, sewing straight lines, clipping corners and curves, cutting a square pattern, and fundamental hand sewing techniques. To apply these skills, we will create a simple pincushion together.
Lesson 2 focuses on pattern making for a bag. You will learn how to add seam allowances to a pattern, cut a pocket pattern, cut fabric accurately, and sew a patch pocket.
Lesson 3 teaches French seaming for finishing side seams, attaching a lining neatly, hemming techniques, and adding straps to your bag.
Throughout the course, pattern cutting paper, sewing machines, and all necessary tools will be provided, along with tea and coffee to keep you refreshed. Please note that you will need to purchase your own fabric and thread for the course.
Cancellation Policy
Our classes are non refundable. Due our small class sizes it is very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to fit you in on another date but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances.
In the event that we need to cancel a class, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or an alternative booking date.
