We start right from scratch, familiarising you with the sewing machine itself, showing you how to wind a bobbin, thread the machine up and change the tension.

This course is 3 x lessons (18:00 - 21:00pm) Fridays

August 29th, September 5th and 12th

Small classes of just 4 students.

Lesson 1:

How to thread the machine, sewing straight lines, clipping corners and curves, pattern cutting a square, basic hand sewing techniques. Creating a pattern for a tote bag.

Lesson 2:

Seam allowances to a pattern, pattern cutting a pocket, cutting out fabric, sewing a patch pocket.

Lesson 3:

French seaming sides, attaching a lining, hemming and attaching straps.

Pattern cutting paper, sewing machines, tools, tea and coffee provided.

You will need to buy fabric and thread for this course.

Cancellation Policy

Our classes are non refundable. Due our small class sizes it is very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to fit you in on another date but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances.

In the event that we need to cancel a class, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or an alternative booking date.
