In this beginners workshop, you will learn how to make a zipped cushion from start to finish. The class will be held over two Friday evenings, specifically the 7th and 14th of November, from 18:00 to 20:00 at my studio located on Beeching Road, Bexhill. There should be enough time for you to complete two cushions, depending on your individual speed and comfort level with the techniques taught.

Lesson One: We will begin with an induction to the sewing machines, followed by pattern cutting for your cushion. You will be able to decide what size cushion you would like to make, You will learn how to add allowance to your pattern to accommodate the zipper, as well as how to use the overlocker or a zigzag stitch. You will also cut out your pattern pieces onto your chosen fabric during this session.

Lesson Two: This session focuses on sewing the cushion pieces together and fitting a standard zipper using a specialist zip foot available on our sewing machines.

Please note that you will need to purchase your own materials for the cushion, including fabric and zipper. However, pattern cutting paper, sewing machines, and all essential tools will be provided for you during the workshop.
